He has torn us to pieces
but he will heal us;
he has injured us
but he will bind up our wounds.
After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will restore us,
that we may live in his presence.
Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth."

It's interesting that Hosea is declaring that God will heal him and bind the wounds that GOD HIMSELF inflicted.
That's something that most people in our society/culture don't want to acknowledge or even consider. The LORD does sometimes "[tear] us to pieces" and "[injure] us."
How could a loving God do that? Maybe God is able to love in a completely different way than we are...Maybe our definition of love is only a drop in an ocean of varying temperatures and shades.
Thanks for reminding me that God is a God of healing and restoration. I needed to hear something along those lines today.
